Foundation One: The Unchanging Nature of God
God’s Word Never Changes!
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8
Modern health advice is an ever-moving target. The “superfood” heralded as life-saving one year is often discarded the next, and this constant shifting creates a real sense of fatigue and confusion. For many of us, the mere mention of words like eggs, fats, cholesterol, or bread brings up negative connotations because we were told for so many years—with such certainty—that they were bad for us.
But there is a better way to look at our health. When we return to the Word of God, we find a stable baseline. While man’s understanding of nutrition is constantly being rewritten and reversed, God’s design for our bodies has never changed. His instructions provide clarity that doesn't require a Google search, a new research study, or a scientific update to be true. It is the original blueprint for our vitality, and it has been true since the very beginning.
The world often frames wellness as a pursuit of "self"—our bodies, our rules, our aesthetic goals. This puts a heavy burden on us to be perfect. That is clearly unattainable for us. But when we shift our perspective to stewardship, we recognize that our bodies are a temple entrusted to us for a purpose. We aren't caring for our health to meet a standard of beauty; we are maintaining the vessel so we are fit for the work and relationships God has placed in our lives.
We often lean on our own understanding or lack of understanding which serves to over-complicate our diets and routines until we reach the point of overwhelmed. God has already created a perfect design in our bodies. Rather than trying to re-invent the wheel (or human body design), Proverbs 3:5-6 invites us to a different way:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
This means inviting God into the kitchen, the grocery store, and our times of movement. When we acknowledge Him in these small, daily rhythms, the confusion clears, and He makes our paths straight—turning wellness into a byproduct of a life in rhythm with Him.
